Set of Two Solid Brass Prismatic STALLONE-INDIA Compasses: This set consists of the
following two solid brass compasses:
A – 3” solid brass prismatic compass mounted on brass stand. This Compass is a reproduction of an antique Prismatic
compass on a stand. The prism allows you to simultaneously view the object being sighted and its magnetic heading. The
hinged brass lid flips up to expose the compass. The prism is also hinged and can be rotated up for use as a front sight,
and to view the compass heading without averting the user’s gaze. Reverse mirror image printing on the compass rose
reads properly when viewed though the prism with half-degree resolution. When making a heading measurement, the
magnetic heading appears under the object being sighted. Adjustment screws allow the height of the prism to be precisely
set. The compass has a needle lift mechanism that is operated with a thumbscrew on the bottom of the compass, to
protect the compass jewel when being transported. A small button in the rear of the compass activates a needle freeze
mechanism to hold a compass heading for easier reading. The base of the compass unscrews to expose standard ¼ – 20
threads to allow mounting the compass on a tripod. Its stands 3 ½ inches (8.9 cm) tall. This compass is beautifully crafted
from solid brass, and polished to a mirror-like shine. The built-in stand makes this Prismatic Compass a perfect desk
accessory.
B – 2” solid brass prismatic compass mounted on brass stand. This Compass is a reproduction of an antique small
Prismatic compass mounted on a stand. The prism allows you to simultaneously view the object being sighted and its
magnetic heading. The hinged brass lid has a replaceable sighting thread, which flips up to expose the compass. The
prism is also hinged and can be rotated up for use as a front sight, and to view the compass heading without averting the
user’s gaze. Reverse mirror image printing on the compass rose reads properly when viewed though the prism. When
making a heading measurement, the magnetic heading appears under the object being sighted. Adjustment screws allow
