Set of Three 4” Solid Brass & Hardwood Nautical STALLONEINDIA Sextants: This is the set of three beautiful solid brass &
hardwood miniature nautical sextants.

A – 4”. This brass sextant with an antique finish. This sextant
looks like a turn-of-the-century antique. The 4-inch (10 cm)
radius brass sextant has six filters and a slow motion control
to allow fine adjustment of the inclination angle. The sextant
measures 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) tall, 4 ½ inches (11.4 cm) wide,
2 ½ inches (6.4 cm) deep.
If you plan on handling the sextant much, you’ll really
appreciate how the antique finish does not show fingerprints
or require polishing. They are perfect for the collector or
nautical enthusiast interested in learning celestial navigation.
B – 4” sextant having hardwood base & solid brass
accessories. It is available in polished brass finish having one
telescope. This is a beautiful and unique solid brass and
hardwood reproduction of an early 1800’s 4” radius octant
(predecessor to the modern sextant). Because of the
arrangement of the mirrors, sextants and octants can measure
twice the angle of the scale. Although a reading of 90 degrees
was possible for octants, 80 degrees was considered a
practical. There is a hinged magnifier to help read the German
Silver vernier scale, and there are six swing-arm filters. Like
most all octants,
this model have a telescope, and has the proper style brass
adjustable peep site. While this octant is fully functional, it is
not calibrated and is not intended for navigation.
C – 4” sextant available in polished brass finish. Each sextant
is expertly crafted from solid brass. This model is available
with a beautiful polished brass. The sextant has an accurately
divided German Silver scale, and a gear driven slow motion
control for making small adjustments to the index arm. A
powerful magnifier can be swung into position to assist in
reading the vernier scale. The telescope has polished glass
lenses and produces a sharp magnified image. The mirror
mounts are adjustable, and the index mirror has three
recessed adjustments. There are four tinted swing-arm filters:
Two very dark filters for sun shots and two mediums blue for
moon shots. On the back of the sextant is a hardwood handle
with a thick brass plaque. While these sextants are fully
functional with properly aligned optics, they have not been
calibrated and are not intended for navigation.

interested in learning celestial navigation.
