Crusader’s lion shield 13th century
- In the 12th century with the introduction of the pot
helmet, the individual knight could no longer be
recognized by his face, and another means of
identification became necessary. Therefore their
shields were painted in boldly contrasting colours and
because armorial bearings were designed for battle,
fierce animals were displayed as well. We are offering
an authentic copy of such a shield in yellow colour
(sorry, no others available yet). Shield dimensions: 68
cms.(27″) x 49cms.(19″)
These shields are available in plywood or steel sheet as
per your choice
